Artisanal coffee roaster Irving Farm Cafe opened its first Upper West Side cafe today at 224 West 79th Street. The spacious cafe (1,300 square feet) can hold 74 people and will serve some very fancy-shmancy coffee indeed — the Kalita Wave coffee drippers were imported from Japan and the espresso machine is a customized La Marzocca Strada MP. If this Amazon listing is any indication (for a $14,900 La Marzocca), it probably cost more than your car.
The espresso comes straight from El Jigual Colombia, and the charcuterie for the sandwiches they serve is locally sourced and sustainable, according to a press release.
Irving Farm also has a cafe down near Gramercy Park, and it roasts its own coffee in Millerton, NY.
AND, if coffee isn’t your thing, the cafe will also serve beer from two taps, each of which will pump out locally crafted brews.

Really bad service!
The manager, Liz, was rude, not nice and with zero knowledge of customer service.
The coffee was good, but wasn’t worth it with the bad attitude.
I don’t recommend this place.
