January 25, 2012 Weather: Partly cloudy, High of 44 Degrees.

News:
Alex Rodriguez sold his massive bachelor pad in the Rushmore on 64th Street less than one year after he bought it, and he supposedly netted a nice profit. The steroid-abuser and playoff-choke-champ (sorry, I’m a Mets fan) bought the place for $5.5 million in March, and put it on the market asking $8 million just days after the Yankees were eliminated from the playoffs in October. (Wall Street Journal)

Another new Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf has arrived, on 79th Street and Columbus Avenue. It’s the LA chain’s second Upper West Side location. The first is on 86th Street. (GrubStreet)

A 3-year-old on West 90th Street suffered a serious head injury, but the name of the child and the cause of the injury were unknown. (DNAinfo)

Eva Moskowitz’s Success Academy Network plans to expand to the Upper East Side and Chelsea. (NY Daily News)

Please limit comments to 150 words and keep them civil and relevant to the article at hand. Comments are closed after six days. Our primary goal is to create a safe and respectful space where a broad spectrum of voices can be heard. We welcome diverse viewpoints and encourage readers to engage critically with one another’s ideas, but never at the expense of civility. Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate.
