If you’ve been to a farmer’s market in the past week, you have probably noticed that the local farms that supply the markets are bursting with colorful, ripe fruits and vegetables, like the heirloom tomatoes we saw at the 66th Street (Tucker Square) market this week. Do not allow overripe-ness to set in: get some produce now!
Check out the markets at Tucker Square (Saturday), Columbus Avenue between 78th and 81st Streets (Sunday), and the one near Columbia University (Sunday). Our photos below will get you in the mood.
If you do one thing outside this weekend…
Check out a parade, live music and pumpkin display at the Dana Discovery Center in Central Park from 4 to 7Â on Sunday.
If you do one thing inside this weekend…
67 Wine has a Cider Tasting from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, with 6 ciders (with alcohol) for tasting.
For more great local events, check out our weekly calendar.
If you’re traveling…
Check traffic info at traffic.com for delays. As for the subway, the MTA has a map detailing all of the weekend changes; it looks like the 2 and 3 are not going to Brooklyn (the 3 cuts off at 14th Street), so you have to switch to the 4 and 5 once you get downtown.
