Upper West Siders have been complaining to the organizers of Fashion Week about the noise and pollution from the diesel generators used to power the shows. In response, the organizers agreed to get rid of two of the nine generators, and they say the rest of the generators are more modern, so they cause less pollution and noise. (NY Times)
Bluebrain, made up of two Washington DC based musicians, created an app that allows people to listen to site-specific music as they walk around Central Park, using GPS. (DNAinfo)
The Coffee Bean, a Los Angeles-based coffee chain that just started to spread to New York, has already signed a lease for an Upper West Side location, although it’s unclear where exacrtly. (NY Post)
