July 21, 2011 Weather: Partly Cloudy, High of 95 Degrees.

News:
Jewish Home Lifecare, an Upper West Side nursing home, had planned to relocate to 100th Street from 106th Street, but is now considering a 97th Street spot because of community opposition. But locals don’t want the nursing home at the 97th Street spot either. (DNAinfo)

Babette, a Soho clothing store, has relocated to 77th Street and Columbus Avenue, further cementing that avenue as fashion central. (NearSay)

The West Side Little League’s 11-and-12 year old time beat a Staten Island team to take the championship of District 23, which encompasses 12 leagues from Manhattan and the Bronx. It’s the first step on the way to the Little League World Series. Go UWS! (West Side Spirit)

Police are looking for a Central Park pedicab driver who is accused with three others of beating two other pedi-cabbers, one of whom blacked out after the attack and may have been blinded by the attack. Firdaus Nazarov, 23 of Tajikistan, has avoided police since the attack on June 4. The attack took place in the park on Center Drive near Central Park South. (DNAinfo) (photo below via NYPD)

Please limit comments to 150 words and keep them civil and relevant to the article at hand. Comments are closed after six days. Our primary goal is to create a safe and respectful space where a broad spectrum of voices can be heard. We welcome diverse viewpoints and encourage readers to engage critically with one another’s ideas, but never at the expense of civility. Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate.
