The American Folk Art Museum sadly closed its midtown location a few weeks ago. But the museum’s smaller second location in Lincoln Square is still open and will now become the museum’s main home. Even better, it’s offering a bunch of free events this summer. The museum hosts a Guitar Afternoon every Wednesday from 2 until 3 p.m., and Free Music Fridays from 5:30 until 7:30.  The museum also holds free tours of various parts its collection every Tuesday and Thursday at 1 p.m.

The American Folk Art Museum is at 2 Lincoln Square (Columbus Avenue and 66th Street) and is open from Tuesday through Sunday.

Our primary goal is to create a safe and respectful space where a broad spectrum of voices can be heard. We welcome diverse viewpoints and encourage readers to engage critically with one another’s ideas, but never at the expense of civility. Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate.
