Notices:
An Upper West Side teacher is going off to get married this summer, but she doesn’t know what to do with the little classroom mouse her students took care of for the past two years. The mouse has mites that are not communicable to humans, but is otherwise “strong.” “I am asking if anyone would be willing to take this mouse and let it be comfortable and happy for the rest of its days.” If you’re interested, contact her through Craigslist.

News:
Community Boards are battling over whether there should be bike paths that directly connect the Upper East and Upper West Sides through Central Park (right now, you have to take the loop). The Upper West Siders are all for it, but the Upper East Siders are against it. Some members of their community board called the plan “stupid”! Stupid? Which side of the park was Bernie Madoff from? Yeah, we thought so. (West Side Spirit)

Please limit comments to 150 words and keep them civil and relevant to the article at hand. Comments are closed after six days. Our primary goal is to create a safe and respectful space where a broad spectrum of voices can be heard. We welcome diverse viewpoints and encourage readers to engage critically with one another’s ideas, but never at the expense of civility. Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate.
