Rookie USA, a new children’s sporting goods and apparel chain, is opening a store at 808 Columbus Avenue (99th Street) in the Columbus Square complex this fall. The chain currently doesn’t have any stores, but will be launching this fall in multiple locations, according to its website.
“In the Fall of 2012, a new concept in retail will explode onto the scene. Rookie USA will begin opening stores that feature premium apparel from the best brands in the world – Levi’s, Nike, Jordan, Converse, and more. Our Grand Openings will include local sports legends and lots of excitement! Rookie USA is a kid’s only retail destination, designed to provide a premium experience for savvy shoppers.”
Real estate brokers first hinted at the new store a few months ago, saying it was “backed by a major athletic company,” but they kept the name secret. “They leased approximately 7,000 square feet of ground floor space, in addition to an approximately 2,200-square-foot basement,” said Michelle Loeb of Winick Realty Group. The new store will be next to Michael’s crafts.
