New at the JCC: Early Notification Admissions for Nursery School

We know that the nursery school admissions process in New York City can be daunting, so we’re excited to share some exciting news regarding the admissions process at our Saul and Carole Zabar Nursery School.

For the first time, families enrolled in our Turning 2s and Toddler Playgroup programs at Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan will be eligible to opt into an early notification admissions timeline!

This is the process by which qualifying applicants apply—and receive enrollment decisions—prior to the general applicant pool. Families who take advantage of the early notification timeline will receive a decision by Dec 6, 2024, and can be finished with the whole process before the new year!

There are still limited spots available in both Turning 2s and Toddler Playgroup for the fall:

Turning 2s
Turning 2s is a twice-weekly drop-off classroom experience that fosters your toddler’s growth, exploration, socialization, and discovery. Each class includes play-based exploration, circle time, art and sensory activities, snack time, and gross motor play in our gym and rooftop playground.

Mondays + Wednesdays, 9–11 am

Shabbat Together, Fridays, 9–11 am

Toddler Playgroup (16-24 Months)
Toddler Playgroup offers children a first classroom experience, with their grown-ups right by their side. Children and parents/caregivers will socialize and explore through dramatic play, stories, circle time, movement, and art.

Tuesdays + Thursdays 10:30–11:30 am

Take advantage of this opportunity to provide your child with a nurturing and enriching early education experience.

Want to learn more about the programs? Schedule a one-on-one phone call with a program director.

Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate.
