Re: “…get this filth locked up!”

    Hmmm…”filth”???
    Add up “worth $1,260…worth $4,100…worth $700…worth $600…worth $600…worth $2,300…worth $1,500”

Let’s see…in 6 months he cleared, TAX-FREE, $11,060, or maybe a bit less (as we all know about “padding the loss” to get back at “the evil insurance company”).

So even $10,000 is enough to buy himself some nice threads and new kicks…and maybe even a good GPS so instead of having “fled in an unknown direction” he would always know in which direction to flee.

I’m totally for trial before conviction, much less imprisonment, but are you actually suggesting that if he really did break into about 10 buildings, he shouldn’t go to jail? The issue isn’t just the value of the property stolen, it is the breaking into people’s’ homes.

Well…as the college perfessors and intedreckshuals maintain, in the matter of crimes committed by the marginalized and impoverished, one must consider the socio-economic parameters of institionalized pover…….(snore…snore) SORRY, I just put MYSELF to sleep

Incidents #6 and #7 appear to be Bronx precincts- the 40. Why are they included in a report about the UWS? Even Incident#7 has the wrong precinct.

Even if the NYPD believes that the same individual was responsible, it is disconcerting to see a local news outlet mis-report some incidents as related to the UWS when it is only the individual suspected who ties these together.

The WSR should have been clearer in its reporting.

It seemed fairly obvious why they were included – they seem to be by the same individual. It seems an odd thing to be so outraged by ….

We didn’t say every report was in the neighborhood. In any case it’s worth giving all the locations in case it helps bring in leads.

    WSR,

Your journalism on this hits the mark. Better reporting to profile the perp and the direction of his crime-spree.

Now about your reporting on the 96 st crosswalks…

The perp is a real dope.

Firstly, stealing the super’s tools is dangerous work. I lived in buildings where the super kept a machete handy for such circumstances. And then:
“East 149 Street and Morris Avenue, and removed a bicycle worth $600.” is also the wrong neighborhood to grab a bike.

He’ll get his if he isn’t caught first.Either way his crime does not pay.

The guy’s riding a stolen bike! What a dope!

My daughter tracked down the guy who stole her bike from ebay. Set a meet and cops stung him.

Only a dope would ride around on a stolen bike.

(On the other hand, my criminal defense attorney friend sometimes uses stupidity as a defense. It’s worked).

Get him. Try him in court.
    If guilty, lock him up.
If not, pay him $1,000.000 in damages.
