Upper West Siders don’t mess around on Halloween, with some blocks going full Wes Craven. West 69th street between Central Park West and Columbus tends to have the best decorations, and the block will be packed on Halloween night. Stephen Harmon sent the pictures below.
In addition, we’ve got some extra Halloween events for you to consider, in addition to our original list.
A horror film festival starts Friday at the Film Society of Lincoln Center.
The Bull Moose Dog Run Howl–O–Ween Parade takes place this year on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. “In keeping with recent tradition our party is an informal affair, an opportunity to meet fellow dog people and have a fun time. All are welcome.”
And Riverside Park cafe Ellington in the Park is sponsoring a kids Halloween party from 1 to 4 p.m. on Halloween, on the lower level at the cafe around 106th street.

Thanks to all of the W. 69th st.
residents who make Halloween so wonderful!
Indeed. It wouldn’t be Halloween without a visit to W. 69th Street.
Because Halloween falls on a Saturday, candy will be handed out on W. 69th Street from 4 to 7 pm this year.
