Downton Abbey returns next month for its fourth season, and they’re literally pulling out the white gloves to promote the series. Actors in period garb will serve high tea to frigid Upper West Siders on Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Broadway between 66th and 67th. The new season premieres on January 5.

In addition, PBS will be screening all of Season 3 at its nearby studio: “Stop by the Tisch WNET Studios (66th St. & Broadway) between 11am – 7pm for an all-day marathon screening of Downton Abbey Season 3. Get caught up on all the drama before Season 4′s January premiere.”

Unfortunately, Mr Carson himself won’t be there to serve you your tea.

Now check out the Season 4 trailer:

I hate to be pedantic, but you likely mean afternoon tea. High tea is a working class meal, sometimes known as meat tea. It is essentially similar to dinner.

Ooops! Guess someone really DID cross his teas.

Let us hope he does not ‘dot his eyes’.
