Upper West Side ice cream lovers, rejoice. Cold Stone Creamery is returning to the Upper West Side.

Cold Stone Creamery will open at 2303 Broadway, between West 83rd and 84th streets, according to the popular ice cream parlor chain’s website.

The new Upper West Side location is listed on Cold Stone’s website as “coming soon.”

The information about the new Upper West Side location on Cold Stone’s website.

The ice cream outpost will fill the vacant Broadway storefront most recently home to the salon Kolorbar.

Cold Stone Creamery offers ice cream, cakes and pies, sorbet, milkshakes and smoothies, and novelty items. It is best known, though, for how your ice cream order comes together, as employees roll the ice cream out flat in front of you, and then add toppings, before mixing the sweet concoction together.

Cold Stone Creamery had a location for years on the Upper West Side on the south side of West 72nd Street, between Broadway and Columbus. The location closed in 2014.

The incoming neighborhood outpost will be just the second in the neighborhood.

We’ll keep an eye out for more details on the timeline for the opening.

Store #24203 better be much better than store #24202! Just kidding, would absolutely prefer a local business to move in, but unfortunately the insane rents in our neighborhood allow access for only the most well-capitalized corporations establish a footing these days.

Speaking of new openings on Broadway in the 80s, there is a sign up for a new Picky Barista on 84th/Broadway. The old Aldo space was subdivided. There will be a nail salon on one side, and the coffee shop on the other, next to the cupcake place. While I am glad to see another empty storefront find a tenant, I wonder how many coffee shops selling $5.50 cups of coffee the neighborhood can support.
