Multiple people were injured Saturday after a fire broke out in a residential building on the Upper West Side, an FDNY spokesperson confirmed to West Side Rag.
The flames ignited around 5 p.m. within the 9th floor of a residential building at 124 West 79th Street, between Amsterdam and Columbus, FDNY said. A total of 120 firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the incident and were able to put the fire under control by 5:43 p.m., FDNY added.
Four residents of the building suffered minor injuries, with one of them needing to be transported to a hospital, the spokesperson said.
The Fire Marshall will determine the cause of the blaze.

Any update on the cause of the fire on Bway last week between 81st and 82?
I live in the building mentioned. The FDNY are without a doubt NY’s bravest!
Does anyone know what caused the fire?
