I spoke with a construction worker yesterday. Trader Joe’s aiming for late September opening, he said.

Hate to say this, but the 125th Street store is gorgeous, huge aisles and short lines. It’s just 1/2 block of the 2/3 train too!

Shhhh. If too many people find out , it will change !
Actually not really because the store itself is large and the refrigeration aisles are really huge !
But don’t go ! I’m sure it will be a disappointment
Leave it to people like me who started shopping there months before 72nd announced their temporary closing. And I was true fan of that store.

Shhh…don’t tell everyone. That’s “my” TJ. After years of going to the one on 72nd, the one on 125th is a godsend,

With 1 in 5 New Yorkers under nourished -underfed that’s 1.6 million people….. to answer the question about Trader Joe’s who cares about the overindulgent , neurotic , superficial, and shallow people where they get their snacks.
I love living in New York and the Upper Westside and I’m well aware of all the angels who live here, the people who volunteer feeding the marginalized, the shut ins and the immigrants.
I have a suggestion to people who would bring ‘Trader Joe’s topic’ to their shrink to get off their asses , stop being so self absorbed and reach out and help the less fortunate.
The psychotherapist Alfred Adler(1870-1937) suggested that those who ‘suffer’ from depression (self-centered), for two weeks to try and help others… how much time they won’t feel so depressed i.e. self-absorbed
As regards “when in God’s sake, “ i think God has bigger things on His plate to deal with….

1.6M NYers underfed and undernourished… And how many dogs on the UWS stuffed to the gills and needing GLP-1 drugs? Yes. Try getting your unconditional love through caring for human beings, rather than taking your dog around in a stroller. Underfed/undernourished/unloved/uncared for humans….

I was in Lower Manhattan for a lunch so walked over to the Grand Street TJ. It’s amazing, possibly the largest one in the country, certainly the largest on the East Coast (I was told). Very comfortable, and a staff member told me they never run out of anything because they have so much shelf space. But they closed the bathrooms there, as they had done on 72nd Street.

I do like the TJ at the 59th Street Bridge, which is well laid out and has bathrooms!
