A 19-year-old man was stabbed multiple times Tuesday night on the Upper West Side, a police spokesperson told West Side Rag.

The attack took place around 11:20 p.m. near West 70th Street and West End Avenue, police said.

The teenager was stabbed in both the legs and arms, and was rushed to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital in stable condition, NYPD added.

Police are looking for three men who fled the Upper West Side street in two cars, according to the spokesperson. It is unclear as of Wednesday afternoon what led up to the stabbing, police said.

There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.

A detective from the 20th just came to our building on 72 & West End, I think he wanted footage from our security cameras. Hope more details are forthcoming later on

This crime brought to you by changing consumer habits.

What does the ability to buy a bottle of Tylenol at midnight have to do with an apparently targeted stabbing?

Can you explain? There is a CVS on the southeast corner of WEA and 70th that is open until midnight. The other corners are all residential and have been for decades. What about changing consumer habits lead to this stabbing?

Good point. And don’t fortet that the CVS has to lock most of its
offerings up 24/7. Not exactly a Safe Haven.

Last week at CVS at around 11:45, I saw a man shovel shelves into a large bag. He saw me look at him. I walked away but I told the ONE worker on the floor. He called the other one who followed and watched the guy leave holding a huge bagful of stuff out to his car!
He came back inside and said the man drove away in a car with a hidden license plate.
Every other day I see a cop car parked out front.
I think I’ll mind my own business completely next time. All I need is a masked man identifying me.

We all have seen this and it’s why we have the drug stores closing and everything locked up. What a way for us to live. Why can’t we complain to our city council, the DA’s office and the mayor? I KNOW I DID.

People need to call and say enough is enough, then someone just might do something.

No mystery.

A general lack of enforement for crime of all sorts.

Also the ease and lack of enforement for shoplifting brings in a criminal element.

You go from one dealer to another, you start a trade war. You favor one gang over the other, you run into market pushback. You encroach on someone’s market share, they retaliate aggressively with all commercial tools at their disposal. Etc etc.

Blame the Mayor, 2 months ago he cut 500 officers that were supposed to be hired.

Why wasn’t he taken to whatever they call Roosevelt hospital, now – Mt Sinai West? It’s a much better hospital and closer to the scene. Could it be race related?

The champion of race relations here is reading a lot into this story because I’m not seeing any mention of what color any of the people are — victim or perps. And yes, that about the trauma center levels.

Mt Sinai Morningside is a level 2 Trauma Center; Mt Sinai West is not. Let’s stop looking for conspiracies.

Race related? I think the days of white-only hospitals are over. But you get a middling score for trying give the story a racial bent.

Mt. Sinai Morningside (the former St. Luke’s) has a pediatric ER which is a better environment for a 19 year old. I speak from experience, having been there with a relative about the same age as the victim.

Mt. Sinai Morningside is a trauma center- Mt. Sinai West (the old Roosevelt hospital) is not. Closest trauma centers to this location would be Mt. Sinai Morningside or Cornell.

What led to this was how the culprits were raised. Criminals aren’t born. Their parents failed to guide them to be decent, law abiding citizens. Or possibly they weren’t even around to take responsibility to do so. It’s a pattern that keeps repeating itself. Hopefully, they will be caught, successfully prosecuted and removed from society where they don’t know how to function in a non violent manner.

Parents aren’t responsible if the child who commits the crime ! is mentally ill. They ARE responsible for seeking help!

Do you have any idea how hard it is to get mental health help for someone? The victim here was 19, we don’t know how old the assailants are. You can’t force a mentally ill adult to do anything. And a huge problem with mental illness is the people often don’t realize they are unwell.

I believe NYPD will catch these criminals….. the big question is how long (if at all) will they be incarcerated.

Glad our mayor is focused on trying to arrest foreign leaders and harassing and doxxing NYC homeowners instead of cracking down on violent criminals

The NYPD always do the job. As they fill out the paperwork, the perpetrator is given a desk ticket and let out, before even fully processed. That is the ridiculousness of this city.

And getting the city into the oh-so-profitable grocery business rather than working with companies that do the job efficiently already to do it.

He is increasingly pushing an “us vs. them” mentality exactly like Trump does. Rather than being the mayor for all people. Unfortunately, those who are in the “us” camp think this is wonderful and keep making excuses for him. Trump and Mamdani make strange bedfellows…

I would like to see a CVS/Duane Reade without everything locked up and no security guard needed.

Circa 2013.

Please let me know when that happens.

Was a search for the assailant(s) the reason why several low-flying helicopters were constantly roaming over the area between Broadway and Riverside Drive as far north as 101th?

I’m not sure what the purpose of a physical description would be unless you intend to hunt them down. Which I would not suggest.

I so hope to live long enough to see suspect descriptions return to crime reports. If I am attacked so flagrant I give my permission to describe both me and the assailant.
