An Upper West Side man has been missing for 10 days, police announced at the end of last week.

Robert Dewars, 70, was last seen leaving his apartment building at 315 West 94th Street, between West End Avenue and Riverside Drive, on June 12 at 10:40 a.m., police said.

He is 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs 190 pounds, and has brown eyes and gray hair, the NYPD added. He was last seen wearing a white golf shirt, gray pants, and brown shoes, police said.

NYPD released the photo below of Dewars.

Such a sad situation. I’ll never understand why the general public isn’t notified right away when this happens. Imagine how many people may have seen him sitting on a park bench or even walking around the neighborhood and thought nothing of it. When the Citizens App was still fairly new there was a whole team that would send out alerts and actively look for missing children and adults. Not sure what ever became of that.
