Unfortunately current options at local movie theaters are mostly scary and/or depressing.
For some non-stress viewing, check out the quirky British mystery series Ludwig (David Mitchell) streaming on BritBox.
Why is it that at the most fraught times in our society – the scariest or most violent movies are playing?
One would THINK they’d be offering comedies, Rom-Coms and much lighter fare. I can barely sleep at night now.
The days are insane, Violence is everywhere. Trump wants every building, airport and tunnel named after him, Trump Towel, Trump International, thank God they took his name off the ice rink in the Park. He’s omnipresent.
I can’t take it anymore.
Somebody make me laugh all ready.
yes – exactly
Thanks for the tip…as a lover of British shows, I’ll definitely give it a try!
LOVE it!
good one
We need movie theaters on the UWS. When will Metro ever open?
Speaking of Shelter I wish the old SHELTER Bar/Restaurant was still around at 77th and Broadway! Spent my youth there what a great neighborhood place!!!!
What’s truly scary is that the First Lad accepted a $40 million deal from Amazon to make this self promotional garbage along with $30 million for marketing. It isn’t clear who shares in the profits and how. And, of course, the Republicans find nothing wrong with it. Had Hunter Biden, a private citizen, done it; he would have been in prison for it.
Profits?
TDS
The documentary is only “scary” to low-brow haters.
Some lighter fare (newish and oldish) which should be streaming in various places:
Yes definitely Ludwig!
Brokenwood Mysteries – New Zealand series so may need subtitles
Music & Lyrics – Hugh Grant and West 72nd Street locale.
Mickey Blue Eyes – Hugh Grant and NYC locale
Gunless – Light-hearted Canadian western.
Under the Greenwood Tree- Keely Hawes in a happy Thomas Hardy story.
Yawn…how unoriginal.
