There are so many lovely new coffee spots on the UWS now that even the squirrels are getting buzzed.

I’ll have what she’s having…:)
Don’t forget the double pump fat-free, gluten-free, sugar-free, cruelty-free protein foam with Madagascar vanilla and a hint of Viennese poetry.
Squirrels having hazelnut lattes before winter. That barrister must be very popular!
He’s buzzed alright!
“Wicked good”? I suspect that’s a Boston squirrel.
Well, the French Jacque Torre chocolate sold wicked hot chocolate at the UWS branch on Amsterdam, now closed. (Too bad, much better cookies than William Greenberg.)
EXACTLY what I was thinking! I have a ton of relatives/friends in MA and I’m wondering if that squirrel used to live there! 😉
Squirrels need to stay alert for when the dogs come by for the pup cups.
I simply want to repeat the gist of my comment from the other post on this issue.
The kudzu-like spread of “artisan” coffee shops on the UWS (and elsewhere) is a wonderful thing overall. However, it is also, sadly, a reminder of one facet of the “empty storefront syndrome” that has plagued the UWS (and elsewhere) for over a decade now (long before the pandemic, which only made it worse). That is, that the only places that can survive as “bricks-and-mortar” entities in an Internet world (and the Internet, and the availability of almost anything at the touch of a button, and delivered fairly quickly, are the primary reason why the “syndrome” continues) are “service-oriented” establishments like coffee shops, nail salons, spas, pizza parlors, etc. It is why we now have at least one nail salon and, often, one coffee shop on almost every single block of Broadway (and similar situations on other commercial avenues).
So while it is nice to see some of those empty storefronts being filled, we have a long way to go, and need to figure out what to do about this continuing “syndrome,” since the world has changed and non-service “bricks and mortar” businesses cannot survive anymore.
One more sad thing is that most of these new coffee shops have two seats and no bathroom. Take out only
As Sarah Jessica Parker says, a squirrel is just a rat with a cuter outfit!🤣🤣
I would have thought they would have opted for the hazelnut
Hahaha.Cute!
Do you take reservations?
Like the UWS needs more caffeinated squirrels? Nuts!
These squirrels remind me of the Warner Bros cartoon goofy gophers, who were endearingly charming & polite. “I LOVE veg-e-tables!” and I love Gary’s cartoons!!!
