Where’s Lesley Gore when you need her? (For those that don’t get the 1963 reference, please ask an old person to sing it to you…)

Our primary goal is to create a safe and respectful space where a broad spectrum of voices can be heard. We welcome diverse viewpoints and encourage readers to engage critically with one another’s ideas, but never at the expense of civility. Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate. TDS???
A “DS” is the syndrome where you think that reinstalling statues of confederates and re-renaming army bases for confederates follows what Lincoln stood for.
(hint: look at some maps: Clinton, Biden, and Harris won most of the states Lincoln carried.. trump carried the states that Lincoln lost).

How incredibly appropriate. I took the liberty of copying and pasting this to send to friends outside our UWS reading area. Sorry if that is a copyright violation. I was sure to credit you appropriately. It needs to be circulated far and wide.

Subtle! I almost missed the reference to Mr Trump’s defense of white nationalists at the Charlottesville demonstration. Nicely done!

Lesley Gore passed away in 2015. BTW after working with Lionel Hampton and Frank Sinatra in the 1950s, Quincy Jones crossed over and produced all of Lesley’s hit records.

It’s alarming that this particular part of the soundtrack of my youth can have such applicability to our present public dilemma. Thanks again, Gary
