A building fire broke out late Sunday night on the Upper West Side, an FDNY spokesperson confirmed to West Side Rag.
The flames ignited around 11 p.m. within a five-story residential building at 169 West 78th Street, between Amsterdam and Columbus avenues, FDNY said.
The blaze sparked on the third floor of the address and one person was taken to Mount Sinai West with minor injuries, according to the spokesperson. Another person who was injured at the scene refused medical attention, the spokesperson added.
The fire was placed under control around 11:45 p.m., FDNY said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
