In 2023, Columbia University christened the new Philip & Cheryl Milstein Family Tennis Center at 603 West 218th Street. This spectacular, state-of-the-art facility features six indoor and six outdoor courts. The Milstein Family Tennis Center (MFTC) is home to the Columbia men’s and women’s tennis teams and is also open to the public for indoor and outdoor play (with lighting available for night use).

The MFTC is a great option for rainy days, getting out of the heat, and enjoying night play under the stars. The venue is easily accessible from the 215th Street station on the #1 train, and it offers free parking. For court reservations and rates, please call 212-851-7100.

Membership programs and private lessons are also available upon request.

This summer, the MFTC is hosting the Columbia Summer Tennis Camp, an eight-week program for kids ages 7–18, starting the week of June 16–23 and running through the week of August 14–18. (The camp will be on break during the week of June 30–July 4.)

The camp features top-notch coaches, including those with experience coaching Columbia’s varsity teams. There is a one-coach-to-four-kids ratio to ensure focused instruction. Players of all levels are welcome (including beginners). It also includes a catered lunch program provided by 24/7 Caterers—at no additional cost.

It’s not too late to sign up! Weekly and daily spots are still available for all eight weeks.

To register, or for more information on the Columbia Summer Tennis Camp, please click the link below or contact Tim Heath at th3158@columbia.edu or 917-689-2944.

Our primary goal is to create a safe and respectful space where a broad spectrum of voices can be heard. We welcome diverse viewpoints and encourage readers to engage critically with one another’s ideas, but never at the expense of civility. Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate.
