The Riverside Park Conservancy’s Summer on the Hudson is back for its 23rd year, with nearly 400 free events scheduled from May through October — the largest roster in its history.
The annual programming — music, dance, exercise classes, education workshops, activities for children, and more — is overseen by the conservancy and the New York City Parks Department. All events take place from West 59th to 181st streets.
“Summer on the Hudson offers New Yorkers hundreds of unique, free outdoor activities for all interests and abilities,” said Merritt Birnbaum, the conservancy’s president and CEO, in a news release. “Being able to play, explore, learn and exercise and have fun right in your local park is fundamental to quality of life in our city.”
Summer on the Hudson events set to take place on the Upper West Side include:
The Inaugural Riverside Comedy Club is scheduled at Pier i near West 70th Street on July 25 and August 29. The comedy night will be hosted by Nat Townsen, featured on “The Tonight Show” and Nickelodeon, with a roster of comedians.
Other Pier i events: the New York City Irish Dance and Music Festival on May 4 at 6 p.m.; a kite festival on August 16; and the West Side County Fair on September 7.
More local events will include flower pressing at the 102nd Street Field House on August 16; a Shakespeare acting class at the 89th Street Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument; and guided nature walks starting from the 119th Street tennis courts on May 9, June 19, September 18, and October 15.

That photo is in Riverside Park South, which is not the same as Riverside Park.
I the Riverside Park Conservancy ever going to do anything about the incredibly dangerous bicyclists and e-bikes? Riverside Park is much less safe for pedestrians than Central Park, and Riverside Park South is only a bit better than Riverside Park.
Summer in the Hudson has many activities in Riverside Park South. I suppose your gripe is with the article’s headline but adding “and Riverside Park South would make it too long.
