Mark your calendars (and move your cars, if necessary) – tomorrow, Saturday, June 29, West End Church is closing down West 77th Street between Broadway and West End Avenue for a community block party, with a special invitation to our LGBTQ+ neighbors and friends.
We’ll have games for kids, water play, live music, food trucks, and ample seating to catch up with old friends! All are welcome–pull up a chair and enjoy the simple joy of being in a New York City street on a summer afternoon in a neighborhood that celebrates everyone’s individuality and worth.
Come also to view the “Sanctuary” art installation, an artistic exploration born of a person’s experience grappling with his conservative faith and a family member’s coming out–on display outside on Saturday, and back in West End’s own sanctuary that evening for our Pride programming. It’s traveled all the way from Utah to be with us, and the artist and a film crew will be on hand to celebrate.
