About the Cartoonist: Caroline Dworin sent her cartoons into the Rag because, she wrote: “We certainly need a little more joy in the face of, ohhh, well, absolutely everything else.” Dworin has written for The New York Times, and, calls cartoonists “some of the kindest, funniest humans I’ve ever met.” She has contributed cartoons to The New Yorker.

A classic mother’s lament about “how things are today” would add “it wasn’t like this in the old country”, whether that was Italy, Poland, Dominican Republic or wherever.
