On December 31, at 7 p.m., The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine will present its annual New Year’s Eve Concert for Peace. Started by Leonard Bernstein in 1984, this event celebrates the end of the year through music of hope and optimism.

This year’s program includes Mozart’s Divertimento in D Major, the world premiere of Voices of Afghanistan by Stanley Grill, and a montage of music from Jewish, Muslim and Christian traditions centered on the shared longing for peace, all framed by music of J.S. Bach and culminating in This Little Light of Mine.  Tickets begin at $40.

There were two approved comments and they both disappeared. One was mine. Why?

Your comments didn’t disappear. This is a totally separate sponsored listing. Your two comments are still on the earlier listing from a few days ago. Just sayin’

It is an honor to participate in this concert for peace. I only hope that it will be a harbinger of a better and more peaceful year than 2023.
