It is not every day you’re strolling the Upper West Side and bump into Emma Stone riding naked on the back of a garbage truck, but that’s what happened a few days ago.
Local Mealani Kaiser was walking in the neighborhood on Friday, when she stumbled upon actors Stone and Bowen Yang at West 66th Street and Freedom Place filming a skit for Saturday Night Live titled, “Fully Naked in New York.”
The skit involves Stone and Yang, along with other cast members, breaking out in song in their nude bodysuits while riding on a garbage truck, tossing trash bags and working construction.
The three minute and 17-second video includes multiple shots of the Upper West Side, including the east side of West 68th Street and Broadway and a stretch of blocks adjacent to Riverside South in the West 60s.
“Riding on the back of a garbage truck, fully naked in the middle of New York City at 11 a.m.,” the pair sing. “With my a** hanging out in the middle of Broadway.”
The Department of Sanitation also got into the fun, using the skit which aired on Saturday night to promote its new trash containerization push.
“Hey NYC, cover up…those trash bags,” DSNY posted on social media above a link to the skit. “No one wants to see your bare bags on the streets. Containerization is coming.”
The Adams Administration has pushed to get piles of trash bags off the sidewalk by implementing stricter commercial containerization rules and guidelines.

I wanted to love it, but it just wasn’t that funny IMHO. It was a bold move which I can appreciate. Sometimes SNL is hysterical. Gotta take chances to get to that point. A swing and a miss, but keep trying. Love Emma Stone. Looking forward to her 6th appearance as host.
dumb
Well, I found it brought some much needed goofy joy into my heart and soul. Never forget: Everything’s better naked.
I also wanted to love it, but not so much. Am I being too literal in being annoyed when slender Emma Stone sings about her “big fat a**?!”
Maybe that was part of the joke?
When the script is funny you don’t have to take your clothes off for ratings.
Thinking you missed the point.
I think you missed my point.
The sanitation men sure enjoyed the eye candy. You don’t want to know how they talk about women in the break rooms. MTA bus drivers also even rate bus routes by how easy or attractive women are.
foul but not surprising
Now you tell me!
Come on guys! This is a riot! We need more stuff that makes us laugh in these “terrifying times” as John Oliver would say! ☺️
I guess we can expect more of this now–people appearing fully naked in public for any of a variety of reasons. The negative comments on this message board are mostly that the skit wasn’t funny, which it was wasn’t. But was it indecent? Or am I being old-fashioned?
They weren’t ACTUALLY naked, they were wearing skin-tone body suits. The gross part was them standing barefoot in all that hot wet garbage. That part was real! 😳
Not sure an upper east side body should be on the upper west side. Their freakish bodies were funny.
Bravo!
Not funny in the least bit, but this is what we’ve come to expect of SNL. They did not disappoint once again.
