Hello! Tillie here and I’m a four-year-old rescue from Safe and Sound Satos as well as a proud Pupper West Sider. My Mom grew up with female black-and-white dogs and when she saw that Safe and Sound Satos had received a litter of adoptable puppies and only one was a black and white female, she immediately knew we were meant to be together.
I love living in the city. You know what they say about life for a young gal like me in NYC – it may be difficult for dating, but city life is fantastic for meeting interesting people (and pups) and establishing lifelong friendships. A couple of my best friends – Bridget, a Norwich Terrier and Penny, a lab – are also neighbors in my building. I’m very much a social butterfly, especially with smaller dogs, and I like to cross Central Park and commune with East Side pups. We have a robust and friendly west side community, but I feel it’s also important to bridge the great divide and be informed about what’s happening in the mysterious, untamed territories of the Upper East Side. They tell me there’s a German sausage shop on 2nd Avenue that’s to die for…
If it were up to me, I would sleep in until 11am, but luckily Mom serves as a good influence for us to get up and out on our daily power walk. Each morning, we head into Central Park and undertake a 2.5 mile walk for the next hour. We’ll cover a lot of ground in that time — looping around the Reservoir, wandering alongside the Great Lawn, stopping by Bethesda Fountain to peer into the water and say good morning to friends. If we’re feeling peckish and decide to head to a local bar or restaurants, I prefer to spend time in places where they serve food in addition to drinks. I snagged a delicious bite of hamburger during a recent excursion to George Keeley.
I’m thrilled that summer has finally arrived. The park is green! The sun is shining! Birds are singing! And I’m eagerly looking ahead to a vacation to Maine later this month. While Mom is working, I’ve been sketching out an itinerary for us which includes morning hikes, afternoon swims, bike rides, kayaking, picnics, and much more.
