“Missed Chance”
By Mildred Alpern
We’re all going somewhere
And maybe our paths will cross
And maybe we’ll notice the other
And nod a quick how do
Cause maybe we knew each other
Another time and place
And maybe we forged a bond
No other could replace
But events stepped in surprising
And knocked the pin right out
We lost the other in a crowd
Of faces swirling about
And if in our hurry en route
In window blur of train
We recognize a former friend
Is tomorrow a chance again?
Terif! We need more word pictures. Please include more poems.
Very nice.
