Sirens and flashing lights surrounded the subway station at W. 81st Street and Central Park West on Saturday at around 7:05 p.m., when a 39-year-old man was hit by a southbound C train. Police said the man “was walking on the trainbed when he was hit.” He was taken to Mt. Sinai Morningside hospital in critical, but stable condition.

From what I see on the MTA app, every couple days someone is hit by a train. I think most of these people are walking on the tracks, like this guy.

Walking on the tracks is very dangerous.

While it would be cool to see the hidden parts of the subway system, they are off-limits for a reason. Not only can you get hit by a train but the track is also electrified using a third rail. That current could be lethal.

Your life is infinitely more important than getting a cool photograph.
