“A Christmas Tree Fantasy”
By Mildred Alpern
If I could be a Christmas tree
Tell you what I’d do
Hail all the scurrying passersby
With a ho ho howdy-do
I’d stand up tall so bright and green
With a pine cone scent and a lustrous sheen
And I’d hope for someone warm and kind
To carry me off and ease my mind.
I’d want to be set in a lighted place
Where I could be admired
And decorated with shiny trim
Making me feel desired
I’d hold my spines till the holidays passed
Dropping only a few
Presenting to all onlookers
A charming seasonal view

Delightful, Mildred, thank you!
O’Tannenbaum. (Fir tree).
