State Assembly Member Daniel O’Donnell is starting a donation drive for asylum seekers on Wednesdays from Oct 26th – November 9th from 5pm-9pm, or Saturdays from October 29th to November 12th from noon to 5pm, at the Trinity Lutheran Church at 164 West 100th Street, between Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues.

“With the winter approaching and many of the newly-arrived children enrolling in local schools, I am especially requesting school supplies and winter items,” Assembly Member O’Donnell said. Information about what to donate is listed below. When it comes to “gently used” items, the guideline is “Please don’t donate things you wouldn’t want to receive yourself.”

Please limit comments to 150 words and keep them civil and relevant to the article at hand. Comments are closed after six days. Our primary goal is to create a safe and respectful space where a broad spectrum of voices can be heard. We welcome diverse viewpoints and encourage readers to engage critically with one another’s ideas, but never at the expense of civility. Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate.
