Video: Vivid Footage of Lincoln Convenience Store Armed Robbery

By Carol Tannenhauser

Police have released a second-by-second video of the armed robbery of the Lincoln Convenience store, which took place at around 4:10 AM on Monday, August 8.

As we reported, a group of men entered the smoke shop, located at 2047 Broadway (70-71), and took CBD jars and cash — police now say, “approximately $150 from behind the counter. One of the individuals discharged a firearm, striking a 29-year-old male victim in the left foot. The victim was removed by EMS to St. Luke’s [Mt. Sinai Morningside] Hospital in stable condition. The group of unidentified individuals fled in an unknown direction.”

Here is the video of the robbery:

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the CrimeStoppers website at https://crimestoppers.nypdonline.org/ or on Twitter @NYPDTips. All calls are strictly confidential.

This is the second time Lincoln Convenience store has been robbed in the past four days. On Friday, a weapon was “displayed”; on Monday morning it was used.

It is very upsetting that our community produces such criminals. No prevention and no punishment.

I was wondering ifnWSR can follow up on the story to see what repercussions if any the perpetrators had.

What makes you think these young men were “produced in this neighborhood”? Maybe they are from Staten Island for all we know.
The problem is that we now have vulnerable workers with a lot of cash selling weed. Selling weed is a cash business.

Yes, with their ~$5.2 billion budget this should be an easy case for the NYPD

“fled in an unknown direction” Get those cameras installed already. Then at least we’d know where they went or get a shot of the plate on their car or something. It’s really frustrating that so many of these police reports end with “fled in unknown direction”.

Great quality video! I’m certain these ‘consumers’ will be apprehended soon ( mostly because it’s likely not their first stint and there are mugshots to compare ). Would be interesting to see what the outcome is going to be. I think wounding a person in the process will make it problematic for them to be released without bail – hopefully WSR will let us know.

Find these idiots, get them their trial ASAP, and lock them up. And I don’t care if Rikers is not the Ritz. Don’t want to spend time there? Don’t rob people with guns. Do the crime, do the time.

It is a shame that it has come to this, but I think it would be a good use of resources to assign a police officer basically full time to that block.

Thanks to WSR for the update.

In California and Illinois the cannabis shops just sell that product, they have security guards at the front and they scan id’s before anyone is buzzed in. Their hours are also regulated. If this is the the product NY has decided to legalize to sell, we should take a lesson from those other jurisdictions that have experience with the process.

Medical marijuana shops in New York also have security guards who check IDs at the entrance.

why are they so regulated, and so guarded?

New York hasn’t established its legal store policy yet and so there are no legal stores in existence. Consequently, these illegal shops are popping out without any regulation or security.

That’s a critical issue. In California, you don’t get in without showing ID and the shop has it on file. Shop hours are not 24/7 so you wouldn’t have a situation like this one occurring at 4.10am. And LAPD cruise around, which may or not be a positive, depending on your POV.

If one has to show an ID to get into shop why not show an ID to vote?

Because voting is essential to maintain a functional society and getting high is not.

Maybe if police still patrolled this area like in the old days, this would never have happened. Where are the police hiding?? Or have they all be assigned to more “dangerous” neighborhoods so criminals just go to where they know there are no police. The party of affliction seems to be winning here.

What a ridiculous comment. No one wants crime to happen. Please stop the childish commentary. And the police do patrol. This was in the wee hours of the morning, 4:10 a.m. The police aren’t hiding, but if you cracked open a newspaper you will read they are retiring in record numbers, because of anti-police legislation, including bail reform, which has emboldened these punks. Perps don’t worry about police until they’re shot.

Sam Katz, I know this block well and have walked through it hundreds of time. But I have never seen a police officer on it. Police seem to congregate at the subway train station nearby on 72nd St. & Broadway. It’s probably the safest place in the neighborhood (unless you get on a train!).

This has become a conspiracy-loving country whipped to a frenzy by TFG.

A country that no longer loves or even accepts facts as vital to all processes of public life is a country with one foot already planted in its eventual grave.

Don’t blame the cops. Blame District Attorney Bragg whose policies let criminals get out of jail free on repeat. People need to get out and vote! Primaries are coming up and Brad Hoylman is running for Senate. He penned bail reform legislation. If you don’t like what bail reform has done to our city, vote for his opponent who cares about public safety. Just get out and vote!

Exactly. Danzilo is a Democrat who is prioritizing safe streets – this is the top issue for her campaign. She believes in civil rights for both the criminals and the victims, not just the criminals like Hoylman and many others currently in Albany. She is not some Republican monster who just wants to randomly lock people up, but she also wants to enforce the law and keep the bad guys who are found guilty off the streets so that we can be safe.

If you want change, show up and vote. There is a big divide between the two candidates on this issue. For many of us, this is one of our top priorities. I wish WSR would write more about this election as it is coming up really soon.

CBD (Cannabis diol), which they sell in the store, is NOT weed that gets you high. The one that gets you high is THC (Tetra hydro cannabinol).
