By Carol Tannenhauser

Shortly after midnight on Friday morning, a motorman observed a 60-year-old man jump in front of a southbound #2 train at Broadway and 96th Street, a police spokesperson told WSR. The man was taken to Mt. Sinai Morningside hospital in critical, but stable condition, with severe leg trauma.

Please, if you are thinking about harming yourself or attempting suicide, reach out to a trusted other or call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255). “We’re all in this together.”

I hesitate to post…
Still a big stigma to suicide.
Pseudonym so I’ll take a chance at helping someone.
Suicide attempts CAN be entirely impulsive. I know. I survived. And I am so grateful every single day (minute). You can “ have it all,” and be in relatively temporary INTENSE emotional pain and think the only way to break free is suicide. Do ANYTHING but that. Just go to a fire house or a hospital. ANYTHING.
Trust me, you CAN get better. Just BREAK that TEMPORARY INSANITY and desperation.
Please.
