The forecast for Wednesday, June 15, looks perfect for a night of classical music under the stars (or clouds) in Central Park — especially since the New York Philharmonic Concert in Central Park has been cancelled for the past two years due to COVID.
Free of charge, the Central Park concert starts at 8 p.m. on the Great Lawn, located between 79th and 85th Streets in the middle of the park.
Westside entrances to the concert are at West 81st or 86th Streets at Central Park West. (Eastside entrances are at East 79th or 85th Streets at Fifth Avenue.) YAI will be operating an accessibility section. Please call (212) 273-6181 or email ulli.fenninger@yai.org for details.
The concert in Central Park is part of the 2022 New York Philharmonic Concerts in the Parks series, presented by Didi and Oscar Schafer, featuring four concerts in parks throughout the city.
The program will include Wagner’s Prelude to Act I of Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 with Bomsori Kim as soloist, Dvořák’s Symphony No. 7, and works by New York Philharmonic Very Young Composers: 14- year-old Naama Rolnick’s Keep Walking, and 17-year-old Alexander Rothschild Douaihy’s A Human Rhapsody.
The evening will end with fireworks.
Thank God miss you NYC philharmonic!!!
It’s gonna be a beautiful NYC Manhattan night with plenty of room to spread out with your wine and cheese spreads and with fireworks at 10pm!!!
