Late Tuesday afternoon, two police officers responded to a call that a woman was in the northern end of the Central Park Reservoir. She was crying out for help and was paddling several yards from the shore just east of the pump house. Within minutes, the officers arrived, tossed out a rope and a life jacket, and one of them swam out and helped the woman back to shore. She appeared to be okay. By that time, several other squad cars had arrived to assist.

NYPD had nothing to add, stating that they were occupied with setting up a press conference regarding the Brooklyn subway shooting.

Also looks like they all had a little duck friend who was interested in what was going on in their pool.

That’s not a duck, it’s a Canada Goose.

It’s not like she could’ve accidentally fallen in, there’s a fairly high fence surrounding the reservoir. I hope it was just someone trying to get a selfie and not someone in despair.
