Yesterday, we received the above photograph with the note below from reader Gena Reisner:

“Hi Editors at the wonderful West Side Rag. Here is a photo of a blooming cherry tree in Riverside Park near 100th Street on April 4, 2022.”

We realized it wasn’t long ago that we were receiving photos like this:

Photograph by Leslie Farinacci.

After the blizzard of January ’22, Readers sent us their snow shots and pretty soon we had a gorgeous thread.

On this gray Wednesday, send us your cherry blossom photographs so we can do it again.

Here’s one by Peggy Taylor.

Send your photographs (and tips) to info@westsiderag.com. We appreciate them very much!

“Admittedly not sure if this is a dogwood or a cherry blossom, but potentially worthy of inclusion in your article nonetheless. Picture is from the south entrance of the american museum of natural history” — Charles.

“Tuesday, April 5. We got there in spite of the Mrs. Maisel’s film crew blocking pedestrians and bus routes. Sakura Park owes its name to the more than 2,000 cherry trees delivered to parks in New York City from Japan in 1912. The word sakura means “cherry blossom” in Japanese.” –David Ochoa

To tell the truth, all these photos blow my mind because each of them is a true piece of art. Without any doubts, all these trees are a miracle of nature because it looks so aesthetic and unique that you can’t leave indifferent. This is so cool that people share their pictures because “beauty will save the world” and these photos are the true embodiment of it. I think that it is so important to behold every particle of the beauty of nature because it fills you up with the most wonderful feelings and awakens them in you. The photo of this happy family inspires me because I think that such parks are the best place for such cute photo sessions. It is so interesting how each person was able to convey his vision of Cherry Blossoms and perfectly convey the atmosphere.
