We suggest you mute this little movie and meditate on how much love, care, and support went into saving this little guy and sending him back into the wilds of Manhattan.
It was a beautiful day Saturday to send Minu back into the world. This ring-billed gull spent 2 months with us recovering from a deep wing wound and a foot injury. Be careful out there, buddy!

It would be nice if we were able to rescue all the humans out there with deep wounds and other injuries. When all of them have been loved, cared for and supported back to health, I’ll have a little more room in my heart to be happy for a seagull. Nothing wrong at all with helping animals. We need them in the world too. Just feel like the emphasis is sometimes misplaced because it is easier psychologically and otherwise to mend a gull than a broken soul.
Sounds like you’ve got plenty of room in that empty heart, Jennifer!
Wild Bird Fund rocks.
can’t wonderful people like this rehabilitate birds without someone like you lamenting that they aren’t doing it for humans—I hope YOU are helping those humans Jen before you criticize how others direct their energy—wonderful story Wild Bird Fund!
thanks to WBF for their excellent work!
I love the wild bird fund!!! I found a bird once and they nursed it back to health. I really want to go to their FLOCKTAIL PARTY fundraiser someday….Check out their cool website!
The happy bird at first doesn’t seem to realize that he’s free. At last he understands that he is in his natural surroundings and flees with joy.
Thank you!
