At the next virtual meeting of the NYC chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of America, April 6 at 6:00-7:30, Michael A. Harvey, PhD, will speak about the challenges of hearing loss. Dr. Harvey provides training and consultation on mental health issues related to hearing loss, including training for audiologists regarding the psychological aspects of patient care. A clinical psychologist with a private practice in Framingham, Mass. he has published more than 50 articles in the field. His latest books are Listen with the Heart: Relationships and Hearing Loss and The Odyssey of Hearing Loss: Tales of Triumph.

The New York City Chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of America is a vibrant, diverse community dedicated to helping people with hearing loss lead more satisfying and productive lives. At the chapter’s monthly meetings, speakers address topics such as hearing aids and hearing-aid alternatives, assistive technology, interpersonal strategies, and advocacy initiatives.
