The Broadway Mall Association is holding a community cleanup on Saturday from 10 A.M. to noon. It’s supported by the nonprofit association and several groups and politicians, including Community Board 7, Friends of Verdi Square, State Senator José Serrano, Assembly Member Linda Rosenthal, Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer, Council Member Helen Rosenthal, Marti Cummings, and NYC Parks.
“Volunteers will be cleaning the malls from 73rd to 90th Streets. Tools will be provided by BMA and NYC Parks including garbage pickers, brooms, garbage bags, gloves and masks.
Volunteers will meet at Verdi Square at 73rd Street and Broadway.

why cant some of the “men” from the free neighborhood hotels do this
Really appreciate the work of volunteers – but the best and right thing would be if people did not leave trash (Starbucks, Sweetgreen, pizza boxes etc) overflowing in trash cans, did not litter etc.
Am baffled that residents are so uncaring.
And clearly not interested in environment/climate change issues.
