Manhattan Looks Different from The West; New Condominium Residences Conceived by Dutch Design Firm Concrete

An exciting West Side story is rising in Manhattan’s storied Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood. This new condominium development, known as The West, has recently launched sales and features uniquely designed residences with a wide variety of floor plans and an abundance of thoughtful amenities prioritizing health and safety. World renowned Dutch design firm Concrete has conceived the innovative architecture and interiors.

Located at 547 West 47th Street at 11th Avenue, the block-long building near the Hudson River offers a residential experience that is unlike anything else in the neighborhood. In the last few years, a limited number of new construction condominiums have come to market in Hell’s Kitchen. The West provides an opportunity to purchase a brand-new home in the heart of Manhattan with studios starting at $910,000, 1-beds at $1.28 million, 2-beds at $2.065 million and 3-beds at $2.76 million.

The West’s unmistakable design will make a lasting impression in the neighborhood. At street level, The West’s exterior pays homage to the neighborhood’s industrial past with large warehouse-style windows and hand-laid brick made of recycled materials imported from the Netherlands. Sitting above the building’s base, the top five stories are composed of elegantly engineered homes with all glass facades and spacious outdoor terraces that give the impression of residences that float in the sky.

Inside, Concrete took inspiration from classic New York City lofts for the homes and outfitted them with natural oak flooring and oversized windows that provide expansive views of Hell’s Kitchen and the Hudson River. The luxe kitchens are finished with Calcatta marble countertops and backsplashes, bespoke custom cabinetry, and Miele and Bosch appliances. Each “Cloud Residence”is engineered to maximize light, space, and waterfront views. These homes feature floor-to-ceiling windows as well as floorplans that allow maximum flexibility with open living and dining spaces and light-filled rooms.

The West offers a robust amenity program that includes: a rooftop pool and rooftop park with private cabanas; two guest suites that residents can book for visitors; a communal kitchen; a double-height gym curated by The Wright Fit; a children’s indoor/outdoor playroom with services operated by Apple Seeds; a dog run and pet spa operated by Throw Me a Bone; and a bike repair room. Many spaces are also ideal for social distancing, including expansive green spaces and a number of common areas dedicated to working remotely.

The Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood has a rich, colorful history with interesting urban architecture and the energy of locally-owned shops and small restaurants. There are restful parks, and numerous open spaces including the Hudson River Greenway throughout the neighborhood. Sales have recently started at The West and appointments are available to tour the model residences and sales gallery at the building.
