Knock, Knock…Fresh Cuban Food from Havana Central is at the Door!

Good news Upper West Siders, Havana Central now delivers to our hood!  If you order from their website – www.havanacentral.com – delivery is FREE and is now available up to 79th Street from Central Park West to Riverside Drive. That means delicious Cuban staples like Ropa Vieja, Cuban Sandwiches & Empanadas are now a click away. And thanks to the gov’s liquor allowance, Mojitos can now be delivered straight to your doorstep.

Havana Central is a Cuban oasis in the heart of Times Square. For nearly 17 years, stepping through their doors has transported New Yorkers back to 1950’s vintage Cuba. Nowadays the restaurant has added outdoor tables to be able to offer service for our Midtown visitors. Stop by for Happy Hour drink specials Monday – Friday from 4pm – 7pm, including $6 Mojitos, Margaritas & Sangria.

In times like these, many of us are clamoring for comfort food.  And, Havana Central has those classic dishes such as their Vaca Frita, braised and pan-fried crispy shredded beef with peppers & onions served with cilantro rice and topped with a fried egg.  And don’t forget about their empanadas. These deep fried yuca pockets come filled with savory options like cheese, beef and chicken.  You’ve been warned though; once you devour one you’ll just crave more!  But leave room for their homemade Cuban flan!  This creamy caramel covered custard is a staple in Cuba and a perfect way to end a meal.

Havana Central makes the best mojito north of Havana, hands down! To-go options also include a Magnificent Margarita and Signature Red Sangria, a blend of Cab Sauv, Hennessy, Grand Marnier and fresh juices & fruit.  They’ve got a good list of wine & beer too plus fresh muddled lemonade for the kiddos. Buen Provecho Upper West Siders!
