Art in Motion: Singers, Dancers and Musicians Keep the Rhythm

All of the Upper West Side’s great performance halls are closed, but art continues anyway in the neighborhood.

At the Boat Basin on 79th Street, dancers swung each other around on Saturday night — some more successfully than others.

Dr. Emily Hahn has been watching a singer in a purple boa belt out “New York New York” with perfect pitch for months. Last night she waved. Is that you, Liza?

Every night for months this woman has leaned out of her apartment window on the Upper West Side and belted out “New York, New York” after the #7pmClap. I finally got her on video. Note the purple boa. Also she waved at me. #COVID19NYC @westsiderag pic.twitter.com/QH8wEWYC8j

And Edith Tyson spotted the trio below in Central Park this weekend.
