Turkuaz was a landmark for 18 years in the Upper West Side as the largest Turkish restaurant in New York City.

In 2019, Turkuaz relocated to Midtown West at 310 W. 53rd St. (Between 8th Ave and 9th Ave) and is now a popular spot for the neighborhood residents and corporate customers. It is conveniently located for theatre patron. The private room and lower floor attract many party planners for both day and evening events. Decor is romantic and relaxing.

The menu is filled with both authentic Turkish dishes and has also Mediterranean salads and flavors. It is a great option for vegans, vegetarians and lamb-lovers. Among appetizers are hummus, cacik, haydari, eggplant salad, babaghannoush, zucchini pancakes, stuffed bulgur and calf’s liver. Entrees consist of various kebabs and traditional dishes like vegetable casserole with lamb, stuffed cabbage and Turkish dumplings. Octopus, shrimp casserole, bronzino and fish kebab are among sea food dishes. Doner Kebab is made “leaf” style, which is marinated prime steak stacked on top of each other and grilled on a vertical spit.

Home made desserts like pistachio pudding, rice pudding, baklava, kunefe and milk custards makes a great finale of a fulfilling lunch or dinner. All lamb and chicken dishes are halal and certificate is available upon request.
