A 15-year-old and a 16-year-old were arrested and charged with violently robbing an 85-year-old woman on October 12 as she entered her building on Broadway and 74th Street. Police say the two teenagers came up from behind, pushed the woman to the ground and stole her purse.
Both were charged with robbery, burglary and possession of stolen property, according to an NYPD spokesperson. Chief Dermot Shea, the NYPD’s Chief of Detectives, praised the 20th precinct, Manhattan North Patrol squad and Warrants squad for the arrests “working in partnership with the community.”
