85-Year-Old Woman Assaulted and Robbed Near Fairway, Police Say

Police say the young women shown in the surveillance images and video assaulted a woman as she entered her building on 74th Street and Broadway, the same block as Fairway. The police released the description below:

It was reported to police that on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 1530 hours, in the vicinity of 74th Street and Broadway, an 85 year old female victim was entering her residence when two unknown female individuals did approach her from behind and push the victim to ground, forcibly removing her purse.

The two individuals then fled on foot east bound on 74th Street. EMS responded but the victim refused medical attention at the scene.

The victim’s purse contained cash, cellphone and identification with a total estimated value of $3,200.

The two individuals are described as female Black, late teens to early 20’s, one was wearing all dark clothing, the second individual was wearing a dark sweatshirt, blue pants and a green colored wig.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
