A water main break at 63rd and Broadway around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday caused emergency workers to close off the block. A Department of Environmental Protection spokeswoman said “They’re shutting down the main and then they’ll investigate the cause.” Several restaurants including Cafe Fiorello have outdoor seating on the block.
By 5 p.m. the block was back open, though the bus stop nearby was still closed, a tipster told us.
