DOROT is excited to announce the launch of its new One-to-One Technology Coaching Program to help older adults learn computer, tablet, and smart phone skills. DOROT is now recruiting Volunteer Tech Coaches for this initiative.
Many older adults feel “left behind” in our digital era – now that staying in touch with friends and loved ones, and accessing information requires tech skills. Through DOROT’s One-to-One Technology Coaching Program, volunteers will address social isolation by teaching an older adult to video chat, shop online, and gain other valuable skills!
No need to be a tech expert to sign up to volunteer! The ideal coach must simply be patient, comfortable with computers, tablets and/or smartphones, able to follow step-by-step guides on common tech applications, and enthusiastic about helping older people develop new skills. DOROT will provide orientation, training, and an easy-to-follow curriculum along with ongoing support.
DOROT will be hosting its first trainings for this program on May 8th and May 15th. Learn how you can be a part of this impactful opportunity by visiting www.dorotusa.org/techcoach or by contacting Norman Reiss, Connect Through Tech Coordinator, at nreiss@dorotusa.org.
