Verdi Square Concerts Returning on Sundays in September

A series of concerts will take place in the plaza near the statue of Giuseppe Verdi on 72nd Street and Broadway this month, showcasing a wide variety of musical styles. The Verdi Square Festival is celebrating its 13th year and it’s free to the public.

The schedule is below.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 16 – 5:00 PM
SHAKESPEARE – TWELFTH NIGHT


SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 23 – 5:00 PM
AFRO-CUBAN JAZZ


SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 30 – 5:00 PM

NO more great tunes from classic Broadway musicals?

NO more Rodgers&Hammerstein, Gershwin, Porter, Berlin, Lerner&Lowe, Bernstein, Sondheim, Webber, Kander&Ebb, etc??

Oh, that’s right…those guys mean nothing to today’s “oh-so-hip” crowd.

There goes yet more of our cultural heritage.
