Free Yoga, Music, ‘Butt and Gut’ and More are Starting at ‘Summer on the Hudson’

A nice way to end the day: Yoga next to the water.

The city is once again holding Summer on the Hudson this year, offering free events from now through September in Riverside Park between 59th and 153rd Streets.

There’s a dedicated webpage for the program, as well as a flyer that lists events for the whole summer.

This week, there’s a Locomotive Lawn storytime event for kids, yoga, a “butt and gut” class, a birdwatching walk, and more. On Saturday, Barnard College will hold a “celebration of women and music.”

Bobbi, free kayaking in the park is not arranged by, or supervised, by Summer On The Hudson, or the Park. It’s sponsored by Manhattan Community Boathouse. The pier at W. 72nd Street was damaged so there was no kayaking there last summer. You have to go down to West 56th Street instead. I don’t know whose responsibility it is to fix/replace the 72nd St pier.
